Homeowners insurance is purchased to protect the property from external damages.  These could be things like a storm, flood or fire, a tree branch falling on your roof, or accidentally backing through your garage door.  When you buy a home, your bank or mortgage company will make sure that you have Homeowners insurance to protect their investment in you and your home, so if something happens, they know the value they use to secure your loan with them is safe.

Homeowners insurance DOES NOT cover the appliances and systems inside your home.  These are either mechanical or electrical systems which you use every day from your air conditioning to your refrigerator.  When one of these systems breaks, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to fix them unless they are under a warranty from the manufacturer, which are often pretty short.  These repairs can easily run into the thousands or tens of thousands of dollars, and can cause significant financial hardship for homeowners.  With a little planning, however, homeowners can simply pay a low flat service fee (often as low as $75) and have the remaining costs covered by a home warranty provider even if those costs are thousands.  The companies we work with are backed by large insurance companies to ensure that when your time of need comes, they will be there to hold up their end of the bargain.
